Things I’ve Tested And They Are Brilliant
This would be my first article about products I’m constantly using, and I’m talking about beauty and care here. From water flossing to the best hydrating cream, here’s five things I’ve tested. Since it’s been a decent amount of time, I’ve now decided to write about them, as they are simply brilliant! It’s not advertising, it’s not even proper reviews. Just sharing with the world what I found to be working so well for me, hence there will be no links to shop around.
Take this article as a guide, I’m sure it will help you discover some really good products, those you usually call life changers.
· Water flosser, by Waterpik
It’s not like flossing was invented yesterday, but you probably experienced the water flossing during your visits at the dentist. Now, wasn’t that amazing, compared to the good old flossing string? I’d say yes, because the water will always clean better between the teeth. Therefore, I thought I would do a little more research, so I can try that at home. Maybe it took a little longer (honestly, I forgot about it for quite some time), but finally, last year, I knew exactly what I needed – my own water flosser from Waterpik.
Last time I saw my dentist, she strongly advised to avoid the regular floss method as it might damage my side fillings. And she was right. That was one of the reasons I had to make the appointment – my filling was damaged during flossing. I asked her opinion about the water floss devices and she instantly confirmed the quality of the procedure.
Soon after, here’s me buying Waterpik Cordless Plus Water Flosser WP-463UK, blue – this is the model I picked, but it can be any other, really. It comes with 4 different heads, for pretty much any type of flossing. I’ve only used the general purpose one. The battery is pretty long lasting, could work for over two weeks easily, based on 2 uses per day.
Let’s just say it was a game changer and I’ve been using it on a daily basis. A thing I’ve tested and couldn’t be happier!
· Electric toothbrush, by Oral B
Are electric toothbrushes better? Some say they definitely are. If this is a subject you’d like to explore, I’ will tell you about my new electric tooth brush, as it’s a great asset, and it teams up beautifully with the water flosser.
You might have seen hundreds of tutorials and read thousands of articles on how to choose the best electric toothbrush. Sorry to burst your bubble, but there’s no such thing as perfect electric toothbrush. The way you can choose it is very simple – don’t go for the most expensive, avoid the cheapest. And then it’s very unlikely you would go back to normal brush.
My new best friend is an iO series 3 Micro Vibrating Cleaning from Oral B, matte black. It won’t connect me to the satellites, won’t bring Taylor Swift live in my living room, won’t cook dinner, no, far from all that. It just does its job beautifully. Another thing I’ve tested and I love it!
Tip: you can buy extra sets of brush heads and share the device hygienically.
· mesmerizing perfume, by Guerlain
All right, before you rush to skip the article now, I’ll rush to explain why on Earth would I mention a perfume on a list of really useful products of our day-to-day living? Because it’s about beauty and care, because I’ve been constantly complimented about the scent, and because I find it to be a must-have.
Discovered by chance on a recent trip to Paris, Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Forte Rosa Palissandro Eau de Parfum is different to any other Guerlain perfumes I have. I will not bother to describe the scent because, to me, it is out of this world.
If you’re not familiar with this perfume already, I can only say this: don’t give up after your first try! To me, the first impression was a scent of fresh cut parsley, which doesn’t make any sense now, after falling in love completely and utterly with it. But then I gave it another go, I refused to believe a Guerlain scent could be so strange – I had a sample, in case you were wondering what the heck happened.
Love at second sight! Still testing it madly, so to speak.
· the best hydrating cream, by Elemis
This time it’s easy, I’ll cut to the chase – Elemis Pro-Collagen Rose Marine Cream. My complexion is far from perfect, with a severe tendency to get dry, especially during the cold season. With the winds in the UK, the cold season is basically the main one. I purchased this cream two years ago and I was hoping, given the high cost, it won’t be so amazing. I kept assuming, after finishing the jar, that there are other products just as good, for less money. Well, I couldn’t find them and, believe me, I tried.
This cream heals, repairs, hydrates, highlights etc and it does that in minutes.
It has only two downsides: the price and the fact that it contains perfume. Still, it works wonders, and for that, I would say it’s totally worth it. 100% a thing I’ve tested for quite some time now!
· the best barrier/protection against nappy rash, by Cavilon
Cavilon spray, a 3M product, is a little bottle of magic, recommended by the most caring nurse I’ve ever had the pleasure to meet at the beginning of my journey as a mother. Not necessarily a product to use on a daily basis, Cavilon really helps when the rash is serious and your usual cream – say Sudocrem, for example – doesn’t seem to work.
It can be found in various forms, like for example cream or spray. I was very happy with the latest. Sold over the counter.
Have a read about the product and decide for yourself if you need it. Your baby will thank you.
These are a few of the things I’ve tested lately and they are simply brilliant. See you next time, with another useful selection!
