Travel the World!
Is it possible to travel the whole wide world?
Traveling the world has become a trend and sometimes even an obsession. Social media is crowded with travel addicts and everybody has this goal: I want to travel the world, the entire world!
Indeed, more and more people try to reach their dream destinations. Transportation is so easy to book and so affordable today compared to years ago. Accommodation as well.
But the biggest advantage we have today is access to information. We learn new things and we want more.
Is traveling an obsession?
Traveling the world can become an obsession, especially for those getting an income out of it. On the other hand, there are many looking for social media fame
What would be a vacation without the photos we share with our friends? Would we still count the countries? Would we still try to climb the highest mountain or jump the most dangerous cliff for a photo if we didn’t know there are people waiting for it?
I cannot say if it’s wrong to brag or not, it’s not my concern. We all do it, more or less.
People genuinely traveling for themselves are less and less.
Let’s just try to understand the algorithm first!
Now, the world is a relative term when it comes to traveling. Some of us want to see as much as possible and we do our best to make it happen, while others are happy with anything they can get.
If your main concern is the financial aspect, then I will answer to some of the major questions:
1. How much money do you need to travel the world?
2. Which jobs allow you to travel the world?
3. Can I travel the world on a budget?
4. Can I really travel the world for free?
5. How can I travel the world for free?!
The answers to these question will surprise you. Start packing now!
Just don’t be afraid to take the jump!
Speed defines the new generations and not only. We want more for less, faster and sooner, better and easier. Sounds like a cliché? Maybe, but you cannot argue here.
As a random traveler, it’s all about wanting to see more, sooner and, ideally, to add a little luxury at no extra cost, why not.
As an experienced traveler, I assure you these are possible and my articles will show you how.

I want to travel the world, where do I start?
In order to be able to visit places, it is best to start with pretty much anything. This could be a neighbor city, or a neighbor country. The closer the destination is, the simpler the plan would be. And yes, you usually need to plan a trip. It’s not a guarantee for a successful holiday, but it will ease your way through it.
I don’t have much spare time, can I go for day trips?
Absolutely! I cannot recommend day trips enough. They are fun, intense and fulfilling.
At first, It was not my intention to make it this short, but because the time was relatively limited and I wanted to see more, I had to think fast and take action even faster.
For example, I saw Rio de Janeiro, Natal, Iguassu Falls and Sao Paulo, returning to Rio, in only 11 days. Why? Because the amazing flight deal came with this time limitation and I chose to see Brazil right away, instead of waiting for a next time.
And, believe me, I did a lot of things on each location, as you can see in the collage below. Also, check my video, a summary of my Brazilian adventure here.
In Sao Paulo I was sick like a dog but, a couple of caipirinhas later, I found myself ready to explore the city. I visited the Mercado and enjoyed the most delicious mortadella sandwich. Then I checked the main landmarks of the city center and later I went to the shopping malls on the other side of the city, where I bought a beautiful Michael Kors wristwatch.
I took a train, a crowded subway and a long walk, I ate, I enjoyed a few drinks, took plenty of photos, enjoyed the Sao Paolo city flavors – and all these in just 1 day.
I can’t travel because of my job!
…they say.
A job is never an obstacle, on the contrary. You need to financially sustain your traveling and having at least 1 job is the key. From this point to full time traveler is a certain distance that may vary.
It’s all up to you and your motivation if you want to quit your job and search for a new challenge, but bear in mind that it will take you out of your comfort zone. Are you ready for that?
Fortunately for me, I have a job that allows me to stay flexible. And I love my job for that reason, but not for that reason only! It also allows me to travel. But even a regular 9-17 job gives you plenty of time to travel!
And because we are here, let’s discuss about the main concern: your traveling budget.
How much money do I need to travel the world? Can I travel for free? Can I travel on a budget?
When you plan a trip, the budget is one of the first concerns that comes in mind, right? It makes sense. You choose a destination and then it pops the question: can I afford it?
Calculate. Write everything down. Start with the cost for transportation, accommodation, daily budget and finish with a safety budget.
A safety budget is a relative amount of money you consider enough to have with you when you travel to stay covered in case of emergency. For a daily budget, you may want to do your homework about the specific destination and search for related topics. Other travelers always come with tips.
Transport (whether is plane, car, train, you name it) can be easily compared today. The same for accommodation.
When you have the grand total cost of your potential holiday, you will have the answer. It’s the moment you either make some adjustments, or give up. Please don’t give up!
How to become a full time traveler and what does it mean?
First, you need to make sure this is exactly what you want. Being a full time traveler will keep you away from home, away from family and everything related to your roots. Adventure and seeing new places is fun for a while but are you ready for such major change?
I am not a travel addict of this type. As much as I love holidays, I still want to return home.
Also, I am not a solo traveler. I am very happy to share everything with my one & only.
Is it stressful to see the world in short trips, like one day trips?
The main reason for traveling should be stress relief. But sometimes a trip can add to the stress. Planning a trip should be fun but also seriously done.
I’d say traveling is never stressful, but make sure you don’t set too many goals. Sometimes is best to forget about the must do’s and let yourself carried away. Do whatever you like, feel the place, connect with the people, open your mind and enjoy.
I will always update my blog with new destinations and things to do on day trips. These articles will comprise all the tips you might find useful and make traveling easier. You will find the charm of less known places and, if you get to see the world in one day, my mission is complete.
See how you can spend a day in Varadero. You’ll get addicted!
Why traveling the world on day trips?
Oh, because it’s so easy nowadays and it’s so much fun, you get to reach more destinations and it helps you plan future longer trips to the same destination. Besides, any future trip to a place you already connected with will be close to perfect.
Do I need to plan a day trip in advance or go with the flow?
The answer to this question is solely to your discretion, but you need to consider a few important aspects like options, comfort, cost etc.
I suggest you plan in advance since there are some countries where finding transportation in short time could be a challenge, if not a real headache. Or the cost can go too high if you haven’t planned anything.
Imagine you are in London and decide to see Paris for 1 day. Easy peasy, plenty of options like renting a car, take Eurostar or fly, but can you imagine the prices with no advance booking?
Or take Cuba for another example. You are in Havana and decide to spend 1 day in Varadero. You want to find your best transport option way ahead your trip, trust me, it saves you from a headache or a complete fail.
My day trip to Kimmeridge Bay was not really planned, yet it was a success!
Do I want to return to a destination I saw on a day trip?
I’d definitely say yes! It does not apply to any destination, but most of them will charm you enough to make you want to return for more.
My best example is a day trip to Cayo Largo, Cuba, a Paradise than keeps me day dreaming quite often. Needless to say I am looking for strategies and a chance to go back and spend more time there. Check these photos below and see why.
What do I get to see and do on day trips?
Seriously, almost everything.
No matter how long you spend on holidays, you will never get to see or do it ALL. So why not taking advantage of the short stays and get a truly valuable list of to do’s?
Which destinations could be seen in just one day?
